Whom do we serve? It’s people like Jessel-Paul S., Semira R. and Richard M., whose stories are below. These people are not invisible. They are our family members, friends, colleagues, and fellow citizens. They represent a productive component of our society with extraordinary potential to do good and to do well.
Vinfen serves approximately 7,000 people annually with acute care, residential, respite, day programs and crisis-intervention services.
The people we serve are adults and children, ranging from the severely disabled to those functioning in society at relatively high levels.
We often help people whom nobody else can or will help, sometimes because of financial limitations.
We take people who once would have been institutionalized and provide them with an integrated, holistic set of services to help transform their lives and those of their families, neighbors and communities.
In a 60-page report released by the Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF) in December 2007, Vinfen was commended for providing services to “individuals with a higher degree of challenges and barriers to employment and independence.”
