You can make a difference without lacing up your sneakers! Donate today and support people with psychiatric conditions, one mile at a time.
On May 12 and 13, 2017, four teams of staff, supporters, and people we serve will team up to race in the 190-mile Run-4-Life from Hull to Provincetown, MA. They will run to raise awareness and funds for people with psychiatric conditions, who experience one of the most significant health disparities in the country.
Compared with the general population, people with major mental illness lose 25-30 years of normal life span. This is largely due to treatable medical conditions that are caused by lifestyle risk factors such as smoking, obesity, and inadequate access to medical care. The good news is that people can take steps to influence these factors, and significantly reduce the likelihood of an adverse health outcome. With your support, Vinfen can enhance the health and well-being of the people we serve by developing programs that increase health awareness, encouraging physical activity and nutrition education, creating opportunities for exercise and fitness, and promoting community involvement and partnerships to promote healthy living.
Join Vinfen on Saturday, April 29 at Atwood’s Tavern in Cambridge, MA from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. for Vinfen’s first ever Bingo Brunch. Your suggested donation of $20 will directly support health and wellness initiatives for the people we serve. You will also have the chance to put your Bingo skills to work and win one of five grand prizes! Free parking is across the street at Vinfen. For more information and to register, click here. We hope you can join us!
