Caring Force Rally at the State House
April 11th, 2013
Managers, staff and individuals from Vinfen DDS Day Services “hang out” with the Caring Force Care Bear in Rep. David Linsky’s Office at the Statehouse on April 9, 2013.
On Tuesday, April 9, more than 600 members of The Caring Force including Vinfen staff flooded the State House to speak out for human service programs and workers. Legislators, family members and individuals served spoke out to show their support to the dedicated, low-paid workers who provide care to one-in-ten Massachusetts residents.
The Art Connection Studio and Gallery Opening

Art Connection at Vinfen opened its studio & gallery space for its 5th Exhibition “Illumination” at Arbor Arts Center in Hartford, CT on April 5, 2013. The gallery currently displays various works by artists from many, diverse backgrounds. The exhibit celebrates the creative spirit and the benefits of art-making to transform lives.

Vinfen Family Success Stories

Vinfen honored family members at the 5th Annual Celebration of Family Partnerships at the Four Points by Sheraton in Norwood, MA on September 19th. During this event, three Vinfen family success stories were shared to the audience with personal tribute videos.

A Toast to Gateway
Join Gateway Arts for A Toast to Gateway on Thursday, May 9 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM. This is the kickoff event for Gateway’s 40th Anniversary Celebration. Patti Kraft will receive the 3rd annual Beverly Bernson Award for outstanding contribution to Gateway Arts.
6th Annual Moving Images Film Festival
Over 500 people attended the 6th Annual Moving Images Film Festival on Saturday, March 23, 2013 at the Joseph B. Martin Conference Center at Harvard University. The festival, which is free and open to the public, is held each year to educate our community and fight stigma associated with people living with disabilities. Lively and interactive panel discussions with the audience were held after the films are screened. The theme of this year’s festival was The Power of Young Adults. Three compelling films were screened portraying the strength and perseverance of young adults as they battle depression, suicide, eating disorders, self-harming and the struggle for independence.
