COMMUNITY BASED FLEXIBLE SUPPORTS

Community Based Flexible Supports (CBFS) is a comprehensive and innovative service that provides rehabilitation and supports that help people with psychiatric conditions recover.

CBFS SERVICES INCLUDE

CBFS services are available to individuals who are eligible to receive support from the Massachusetts Department of Mental Health. For more information, visit the How to Access our Services page. Vinfen provides CBFS services across Eastern Massachusetts from Amesbury to Harwichport.

The amount and frequency of services is determined by the person receiving services and is designed to be flexible. Services adjust over time to the client’s changing needs.

Each person receiving CBFS Services partners with a Collaborative Action for Recovery (CAR) team. CAR Teams work with each person that we serve to set meaningful life goals for living, learning, working, and socializing and work toward them. The team is comprised of knowledgeable staff who help people strengthen family connections, make friends, find jobs, develop new perspectives and skills, and explore new interests while learning to manage their conditions.

CBFS employs two evidenced-based practices:

ASSERTIVE COMMUNITY TREATMENT

Assertive Community Treatment is an approach to service delivery designed to help the people we serve choose, get, and keep the housing, education, employment, social settings, and supports they want and need.

INDIVIDUALIZED PLACEMENT AND SUPPORT

Individualized Placement and Support (ISP) is a model that helps clients obtain permanent employment in mainstream competitive jobs, either part-time or full-time. IPS is based on the principle that every person with a psychiatric condition who wants to work gets the support they need for success and satisfaction in a job for which they are well-matched.
