Vinfen’s Psychiatric Rehabilitation Division is dedicated to the rehabilitation and recovery of people with psychiatric disabilities, helping them meet basic housing, food, work, and money-management needs. All individuals, regardless of disability, can change, grow, and recover, but only if they are respected as equal partners in their own rehabilitation.
Our focus on rehabilitation helps people develop skills, acquire resources, and live as independently as possible. Psychiatric rehabilitation instills hope by helping people to make friends, find jobs, develop new perspectives and skills, and learn to manage their mental illness while moving toward their life goals.
Vinfen provides residential services for people with multiple disabilities, such as substance abuse, HIV/AIDS, and hearing impairments. In our clubhouse and day-rehabilitation programs, we offer job-skills training, arts-based rehabilitation, supported employment, and treatment for co-occurring disorders.
Webster House
Vinfen’s Webster House in Brookline, Mass., is a rehabilitation program for some 250 “members for life” who actively engage in running the “clubhouse.” In a lively atmosphere with a special focus on the arts, Webster House emphasizes teamwork in all activities. Club members prepare meals in a full-service kitchen. A transitional employment service provides both prevocational training and job-placement services. An educational unit offers classes in many subjects, including high-school equivalency.
