VINFEN CORP. ANNOUNCES INITIATIVES TO AID STAFF AND FAMILIES IMPACTED BY EARTHQUAKE IN HAITI
(Cambridge, Mass.)- Vinfen Corporation, the region’s leading nonprofit human services organization, is spearheading several initiatives to assist employees and their families impacted by the earthquake in Haiti.
“Vinfen would like to extend its deepest condolences to our employees affected by the tragedy and those in Haiti as they continue to cope with the devastation of the earthquake,” said Vinfen CEO Dr. Bruce L. Bird. We have set up several programs to help staff and families.
Several initiatives are underway including:
- A blood drive was held on February 17 at Vinfen headquarters at 950 Cambridge St. in Cambridge. Nearly 50 volunteers donated blood.
- A Haitian Relief Fund has been set up. Donations to this fund will be sent to the American Red Cross.
- The Vinfen Employee Assistance Program has been actively helping employees who have been impacted by the earthquake.
- A volunteer committee of Vinfen managers and staff has been working on a plan to solicit ideas and volunteers to assist dozens of Vinfen employees impacted by the earthquake.
“We continue to hold our Haitian staff and their families in our thoughts and prayers and we very much appreciate the generosity of our managers and staff who have contributed both time and resources,” added Bird.
