Vinfen CT Art Connection

Vinfen CT’s  The Art Connection held a studio and gallery opening on Friday, October 28.  The new studio and gallery is located at the Arbor Arts Center in Hartford, CT.  The Arbors Arts Center is home to a vibrant and diverse artistic community. 

The Art Connection serves individuals with developmental and psychiatric disabilities who are interested in art and design.  The program is a therapeutically based vocational program from which individuals will be able to move forward with art as a viable and meaningful profession. 

The program provides specialized vocational instruction in the areas of woven textiles, screen printing, three-dimensional design, creative writing, jewelry design and photography. 

“We believe that this wonderful program provides a nurturing positive environment that promotes growth and healing,”said V.P. Elisa Velardo.  “This program helps our individuals achieve their goals through art-based therapies”.

The Art Connection currently serves individuals from local communities who may be funded by the Department of Developmental Services, the Department of Mental Health and Addiction Services, or a variety of local school systems.

The staff at the program have a wide range of experience and skills which include masters level art therapy degrees, professional art portfolios, art and design education, teaching skills and diversified vocational expertise.
