VINFEN MOVING IMAGES FILM FESTIVAL
Moving Images uses the power of film to raise awareness, educate our community, and fight prejudice and discrimination often faced by people who have psychiatric conditions, intellectual and developmental disabilities, brain injuries, and behavioral health challenges.
The first Moving Images Festival was held in 2008 to celebrate the 30th anniversary of Vinfen and to shine a spotlight on the abilities of people with disabilities. In the past twelve years, thousands of people have attended this one-of-a-kind festival, which has been featured on WCBV’s Chronicle and in the Boston Globe.
The event features films followed by interactive and educational panel discussions comprised of stars from the films; experts in the fields of medicine, psychology, nursing, and social work, community members, advocates, and self-advocates; and people with disabilities, their families, and caregivers.
Our 12th Annual Moving Images Film Festival will be on Saturday, March 2 at the Joseph B. Martin Conference Center at Harvard Medical School.
